Very interesting read…I saw this exhibition in another country and it should absolutely be seen. Frida is amazing and unique…and just as this review descibes her.

As a Mexican myself, it is very interesting to read other peoples’ perspective and amazement on the works of Frida K. For me the colourful element of her paintings are a mirror of our folklore. While they make her paintings seem playful and vivid, it is true that in reality they mostly express much of her sorrow. Very interesting interpretation on the mask painting, I agree with it, it certainly gave me some food for thought!

paint myself, said Frida Kahlo, because I am so often alone, because I am the subject I know best.
Frida Kahlo an artist that lived most of her life and physical pain, yet she continued to paint until her death, her artwork records her suffering and experiences as a woman.
Much of her work had about it a surrealist quality. Art historians often considered her a Surrealist due to the psychological and existential issues that she dealt with in her art. Although she asserted that she was not a surrealist because she recorded reality, not fantasy.
She is one of my favourite artists that I can spend hours in front her paintings.

I’ve never given so much importance to Frida Kahlo as an artist, I literally lived in my ignorance, you opened my eyes. I also like so much the way you explain and the pills you gave (Leonardo’s one) which have added value. Keep it up, you are great!
